This is the biggest project that we have completed for Durham Box in the 10 years that we have been working together. The Mobile Pallet Racking project was also the most challenging due to the restrictions of the Covid pandemic.
Overview
The original mobile racking system consisted of just over 2000 pallet locations. Following the relocation to a new purpose-built building, the capacity of the system is now almost 4000 pallet locations.
Delay
The mobile tracks were scheduled to be installed by a specialist team from the Czech Republic. However due to Covid travel restrictions, we had to put the project on hold.
Back on Track
With the tracks laid, the project was back on track [pun not intended] and the construction of the mobile bases and racking could commence. From the original installation, the system is now extended in length by 50% and in height by 25%, giving a 95% growth in total.
Completion
We installed our new time lapse camera to capture the build of the high-density racking system. Check out our 35 second video to see the build and a sample of the movement functionality.
